Mom Boss Series: Introduction

At the beginning of 2019, I announced to Instagram and the universe that I was getting more intentional with my blogging, and that I was going to try to make it into a business somehow. It was one of those things where you announce what you’re doing so you can manifest it into your life.

How, though?

At first, I had no clue how I was going to make my blogging skills into a business, until I remembered something my parents always told me when I was growing up: “Dime con quien andas, y te diré quien eres,” which means, “Tell me who you hang out with, and I’ll tell you who you are.”

Eureka! Full immersion.

I took their advice and I decided to immerse myself into the mom boss world. I started out by attending networking events where I knew I would meet inspirational female entrepreneurs.

I took it further.

Then, I decided to take it one step further and interview other moms who started their own businesses.

But who would I interview?

I wanted to start with one of my favorite small shop owners.  I’ve known her the longest, repped for her shop, and met her forever-fiance and three kids at a pop up shop she held in her own home – Madeline. She lives in Miami – like me – and she loves crepes – also like me. She was my perfect first interviewee. You can read her story here (LINK COMING SOON).

Why am I doing this?

These amazing boss moms need a voice on my blog because they all have a deep impact on me and how I’m going to manage my own business. Also, I want to help their businesses get some exposure – this way, we all win!

I had another idea!

I started thinking, “Ok. These women are giving me their time, and sharing insights into their psyches with me. What can I do with this information? How can I use what I learn to help others?”

That’s when I came up the idea of writing a book!

Of course! A book.

Writing a book has been one of my dreams for as long as I can remember, but I don’t want to write just any book. I want to write a book that can make a difference in the world.

How will this book make a difference?

My book will examine the qualities and characteristics of entrepreneurial moms. It’ll look at their personalities and motivations, which might inspire other women to gain that extra bit of confidence they need to start their own business.

Dear Mom,

When you’re a mom, it’s hard to see yourself as anything other than that. If you’ve ever thought of starting a business, but thought you couldn’t do it anymore because you had kids, I want you to see yourself in Madeline and the other women I interview, and say, “If they did it, I can too.”

Mom Boss Series

Because, really, there’s room for everyone at this mom boss table, so pull up a seat, grab your favorite beverage, and enjoy this mom boss series.

Then, maybe one day, you’ll find yourself being interviewed by me.

Love,

Thank you for this. Sometimes as a mom you are so focused on your children that you tend to loose yourself and the goals you set for yourself. But just wanted to let you know, that after meeting you really encouraged me to move forward in writting and entering the blogging world. Thanks✌

      Jeannette,

That really means the world to me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to me, and for reading my stuff.

Just the fact that I helped you start on this beautiful blogging journey makes me feel like I can phase out of existence right now, and still have made such a huge difference in the world because I was able to help just one person.

No worries, I’m going to keep doing my thang. I just wanted to let you know just how much your words mean to me.

      Thanks, again!

      And see you around! <3
